The Big 3 Upgrade
If you're a car audio enthusiast, eventually your sound system will reach the point where it is too powerful for your vehicle's
existing electrical system. The first step in upgrading your power system should be a Big 3 Upgrade, and there is no better Big 3
kit than Edge PBG3. Our Big 3 Upgrade kit is specifically designed to help your old electrical system cope with the demands of
your fantastic sound system and help with those annoying dimming headlights when your sound kicks. Our kits are engineered from
the highest quality materials to ensure long-lasting durability. Included with the kit is the battery ground to chassis wire, the
chassis to engine block wire, and the alternator positive to battery positive wire as well as the clamps, screws, and copper ring
terminals necessary with this installation. The highly conducive 99.99% Oxygen Free Copper wire provides optimal performance in
even the harshest environments. It allows your electrical system to run at its maximum efficiency while also allowing your amps to
run cooler and subs to hit harder.
Flexibility
Stranded wire is extremely tolerant of the rough conditions in vehicles and compensates for vibration, heat expansion, and
flexibility. This flexible but well-shielded wire is crucial for getting through all of the nooks and passageways within the
cramped confines of vehicle interiors.
Cable Thickness
The thickness of the actual wire, not the insulation, is critical when it comes to transferring the extraordinary current of your
electrical system. With hundreds of strands of wire in one cable, you get an increased current flow and a higher amperage carrying
capacity with a reduced cable size.
Insulation Material
Edge insulation hinders electric current from exiting the wire prematurely which prevents electrocution and damage to components
within the vehicle. Additionally, the insulation maintains the flexibility of the wire while preventing corrosion and damage in
a hostile vehicle environment.
Step 1 Connect one of the two ground cables between the battery and solid chassis ground. This cable can either replace the existing ground or can be used in addition to the existing ground cable.
Step 2 Connect the second of the two ground cables between the alternator ground stud and the chassis. If a ground stud is not available, using one of the rear alternator mounting bolts will also work the same.
Step 3 Connect the remaining power cable between the alternator and the battery and keep clear of moving engine components and extreme heat items like the radiator, valve covers, and exhaust manifolds.
Step 4 Safely tie up and secure each individual cable with the provided ties and cable clamps.
